Operational continuity on military platforms depends on personnel having access to clean, filtered air throughout long-duration missions. Dust storms, industrial soot, diesel exhaust particulates, desert sand, salt aerosol and construction-site conditions can quickly degrade both sensitive electronic equipment and personnel inside the shelter. The Air Filtration Unit is a solution designed specifically for mobile shelters and mobile platforms, addressing these issues in standard operational conditions where a CBRN-level threat scenario does not apply.

What It Does

The Air Filtration Unit draws outside air through a multi-layer filter package and delivers it into the shelter in a controlled manner. It creates a slight positive pressure inside the shelter, preventing unfiltered air from leaking in and minimizing the ingress of dust or particulates from outside. The unit is intended for civil-equivalent operational conditions where no CBRN threat is present; when required, it can be co-located with the Positive Pressure CBRN Filtration System.

Filtration Chain

  • Pre-filter

captures coarse particulates, sand grains and soot load. Extends the service life of the downstream layers.

  • Main particulate filter

captures sub-micron dust, diesel soot and salt aerosol.

Filter cartridges are designed for quick replacement under field conditions. Saturation level can be monitored via the control panel or an optional sensor package.

Technical Specifications

The standard configuration of the Air Filtration Unit has the following properties:

  • Airflow rate: 120–160 m³/hour (customizable per configuration)
  • Operating temperature:

    32 °C to +55 °C

  • Power supply: 24V DC (vehicle integration) or 220V AC (fixed facility)
  • Housing material: Corrosion-resistant steel with electrostatic coating
  • Control unit: Manual or digital interface options

Applications

  • Field headquarters and command shelters
  • Electronic warfare and radar containers
  • Mobile air traffic control platforms
  • Container-type military maintenance/repair facilities
  • Armored vehicle modifications
  • Civil use: mobile medical units, field offices

Integration and Maintenance

The unit can be installed as a retrofit into standard shelter architectures or offered as factory installation in new platform designs. Cartridge replacement intervals depend on the operational environmental pollution level and are typically planned within the annual maintenance cycle.
