Munition Launcher Systems
Munition Launcher Systems are a family of smoke and camouflage systems developed by Ozben Defence to provide rapid, scalable, and mission-adaptable visual concealment against optical threats to military vehicles, shelters, and fixed installations.
On the modern battlefield, the ability to deploy an instant smoke screen against enemy optical (visible light), near-infrared (night vision), thermal (long-wave IR) and millimeter-wave (radar) target detection systems is a vital defensive layer for armored vehicles. From the moment a tank is laser-designated by an ATGM (anti-tank guided missile), only a few-second window remains before impact; breaking the target lock with a smoke screen that blocks optical/thermal vision in this window materially increases the vehicle's survivability. The Munition Launcher Systems family consists of electrically triggered smoke-launching solutions designed for exactly this mission.
Product Family
Single-Barrel 76mm Smoke Launcher System
Single-shot modular configuration for light armored and wheeled vehicles; compatible with the NATO-standard 76 mm smoke munition.
Modular 36/40mm Multi-Barrel Launcher System
Multi-barrel array for main battle tanks, armored fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers; delivers a wide, rapidly deployed screen through salvo (simultaneous multi-round firing) capability.
How It Works
Launcher systems are electrically triggered via a control panel in the vehicle crew compartment or the vehicle battle management system (BMS). When triggered:
1. Smoke munitions are launched to a designated angle and range (~15–30 m) 2. The munitions deploy the screen within ~3–8 seconds of launch 3. The screen covers multi-spectrum (visible, near-IR, thermal, optional millimeter-wave) enemy optical/sensor systems 4. The screen provides 30–90 seconds of persistence depending on munition type 5. In this window, the vehicle can maneuver, take cover or return fire
Countermeasure Chain
Beyond being a standalone "smoke launching device," launcher systems are positioned as the effect-delivering link of the vehicle defence chain. In a typical scenario:
1. Laser Warning System detects the enemy laser 2. Threat bearing and type are relayed to the crew 3. The launcher system is triggered instantly in the relevant sector 4. The smoke screen deploys and the enemy target lock is broken 5. The vehicle changes maneuver position
This integration delivers far higher effectiveness than a system acting on its own.
